If you are planning to climb Ausangate, this information is essential for accurately estimating your expedition budget.

Ausangate is the highest mountain in Cusco and ranks fifth in Peru. Starting in 2024, its technical difficulty has increased due to the disappearance of access via the normal route.

Currently, the ascent is made via the "shield wall," a highly challenging route with an incline of 70 to 85° and a distance of 250 to 300 meters. Additionally, new crevasses have opened in the plateau area and near the summit.

Climbing Costs for Ausangate

Complete expedition packages range from USD 2,000 to 3,000 per person for a duration of 4 to 6 days.
