The Inca Jungle Tour to Machu Picchu – 4 Days is one of the most complete and exciting routes to reach the Wonder of the World. This program combines adventure, living culture, and deep nature, taking travelers from the heights of the Andes to the Peruvian high jungle through unforgettable activities such as downhill biking, rafting, zip-lining, and trekking along recently rediscovered ancient Inca trails.
The journey begins at over 4,200 m (13,780 ft), where you descend more than 3,000 meters by bicycle until reaching the cloud forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Peru. Along the way, you will have the chance to interact with local families, visit coffee and coca plantations, explore Inca ruins hidden within the vegetation, and enjoy the relaxing Cocalmayo Hot Springs, perfect after a day filled with adrenaline.
Our professional guides—experts in Inca culture and jungle ecosystems—ensure your safety and overall experience. They speak fluent English, are highly trained, and share stories, knowledge, and insights that will transform your understanding of Andean and Amazonian culture. The Inca Jungle is not just a tour; it’s a journey that blends adventure, history, and nature in a truly unique way.
We begin by picking you up from your hotel between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. We head toward the Sacred Valley, making our first stop in Ollantaytambo, where you can have breakfast and buy snacks.
We then continue to Abra Málaga (4,350 m / 14,271 ft), the highest point of the route. Here, your guide will give a safety briefing before starting a downhill biking descent of 2.5 to 3.5 hours, dropping more than 3,000 meters through Andean roads and cloud forest. Along the way, we visit the archaeological site of Huamanmarca before reaching Santa María, where we have lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, those who wish can enjoy rafting on the Urubamba River, navigating class III and IV rapids—an adrenaline-filled experience.
Overnight in an Eco Lodge in the high jungle.
We start the trekking day walking along local trails surrounded by coffee, cacao, tropical fruit plantations, and wild orchids. This high jungle region is one of the most biodiverse sections of the Inca Jungle Trail.
We ascend along ancient Inca paths recently restored, enjoying breathtaking views of the Urubamba Valley. Then we descend toward the village of Quellomayo for a break.
We continue trekking for about 3 more hours, crossing waterfalls, rivers, and small family farms until arriving at the famous Cocalmayo Hot Springs, considered the best thermal baths in Cusco thanks to their natural, crystal-clear pools.
Afterwards, we continue for 40 minutes on foot (or optional transport) to Santa Teresa, where a comfortable lodge and group dinner await.
We start the day in Santa Teresa. Those who booked the activity will enjoy one of the largest zipline circuits in South America—the Santa Teresa Zipline, a guaranteed adrenaline rush.
The rest of the group will continue toward Hidroeléctrica, where everyone meets again.
After a short break, we begin a 6-hour trek following the train tracks, walking past waterfalls, coffee plantations, and the lush vegetation of the rainforest.
We arrive in Aguas Calientes around 4:00 p.m., check into our hostel, and enjoy dinner together while the guide gives instructions for the Machu Picchu visit.
The final day starts early, around 4:00 a.m. We walk up the footpath or take the optional bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu (2,429 m / 7,972 ft), entering around 6:00 a.m.
