Inca Jungle Tour to Machu Picchu – 4 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Abra Málaga – Huamanmarca – Santa María (Biking + Rafting)

We begin by picking you up from your hotel between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. We head toward the Sacred Valley, making our first stop in Ollantaytambo, where you can have breakfast and buy snacks.

We then continue to Abra Málaga (4,350 m / 14,271 ft), the highest point of the route. Here, your guide will give a safety briefing before starting a downhill biking descent of 2.5 to 3.5 hours, dropping more than 3,000 meters through Andean roads and cloud forest. Along the way, we visit the archaeological site of Huamanmarca before reaching Santa María, where we have lunch and rest.

In the afternoon, those who wish can enjoy rafting on the Urubamba River, navigating class III and IV rapids—an adrenaline-filled experience.

Day 2: Santa María – Quellomayo – Santa Teresa – Cocalmayo (Trekking + Hot Springs)

We start the trekking day walking along local trails surrounded by coffee, cacao, tropical fruit plantations, and wild orchids. This high jungle region is one of the most biodiverse sections of the Inca Jungle Trail.

We ascend along ancient Inca paths recently restored, enjoying breathtaking views of the Urubamba Valley. Then we descend toward the village of Quellomayo for a break.

We continue trekking for about 3 more hours, crossing waterfalls, rivers, and small family farms until arriving at the famous Cocalmayo Hot Springs, considered the best thermal baths in Cusco thanks to their natural, crystal-clear pools.

Afterwards, we continue for 40 minutes on foot (or optional transport) to Santa Teresa, where a comfortable lodge and group dinner await.

The rest of the group will continue toward Hidroeléctrica, where everyone meets again.

After a short break, we begin a 6-hour trek following the train tracks, walking past waterfalls, coffee plantations, and the lush vegetation of the rainforest.

We arrive in Aguas Calientes around 4:00 p.m., check into our hostel, and enjoy dinner together while the guide gives instructions for the Machu Picchu visit.

2. Changes and Rescheduling

3. Cancellations
