The tour begins at 7:30 a.m. with hotel pickup in Puno and transfer to the Lake Titicaca port. Our first stop is the famous Uros Floating Islands, where your guide will explain how these islands are built on the highest navigable lake in the world using the totora reed. You will learn about the local lifestyle, traditions and the cultural importance that the Uros community preserves today. The visit lasts approximately 1 hour.
We then continue navigating towards Amantani Island, on a 2.5-hour boat ride across Lake Titicaca, enjoying stunning views of the Andes and the highland landscapes. Upon arrival, the local community will welcome us and assign each group to a host family for accommodation and meals.
In the afternoon, we will take a guided hike to the Pachatata viewpoint, one of the island’s most sacred sites, where you will enjoy a spectacular sunset over the lake. Amantani is known for its hospitality, natural beauty and rich textile and agricultural traditions. You will spend the night in family homes, immersing yourself in an authentic community-based tourism experience.
After a traditional breakfast, we head to Taquile Island, on a one-hour boat ride.
